Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

This was recently posted at KD.Look, I'm a pretty strong Democrat, my family being Democrats as far back as anyone can remember; I don't like Bush; I don't trust him very much; and I don't plan on voting for the guy come November. But PLEASE... he's not Hitler ( Read more... )

Ironically enough, I had just been thinking about that same topic, having finished the Bushgame. It's a little, I dunno, too much. I don't like propaganda like that, even (especially) if it expresses valid points. It's too creepy and Goebbels-like.

A thing about life that is very true is that we ultimately have no control over many events, however one thing that one does have control over is how one reacts to the external stimuli ( ... )

People still [though the right of free speech seems somewhat eroded in the US e.g. peeps arrested for wearing T shirts saying they hate Bush] mercifully have the rights to think and say what they want.

Well, I didn't really mean the "please don't call Bush that" line as an infringement on freedom of speech. I meant it more as a "okay, even as a staunch democrat, I think this Bush-bashing is getting a leeetle out of hand" line than an actual command of silence. Perhaps, "Okay, even as a staunch democrat, I think this Bush-bashing is getting a leeetle out of hand" would have been a better way of communicating that! ;)

A quote from the Buddha goes something like this “If what I say makes sense, then take it up, if it does not, discard it” That methinks can be expanded to encompass everyone, who an individual comes into contact with.

I wonder if the Buddha ever just woke up in a pissy mood.

There is some stuff that warrants getting annoyed about, the above imo, is not one of them. You're completely right. It's not worth getting ( ... )

Hahaha! I should have known something like that existed! I guess it's fairly inevitable when arguing politics that someone will be compared to Hitler; he is probably the easiest (and definitely most reknowned) example of eeeeevil to use for making comparisons. I mean, no one is going to argue that the guy wasn't a fuckwit.

Am so very tempted to post that link over at KD... *insert maniacal grin*

I know, I"m not American (in case you didn't know :p) and even I find that offensive. I think it's offensive to compare ANYONE with Hitler unless they're a genocidal, evil, xenophobic dictator.
