The good news is that there is experience in his cabinet and that they seem competent enough to handle their files. The bad news is well, they're conservatives.
More specifically there are some nutjobs in big places. From my parents riding there is Jim Flahtery, who is more right-wing than Mike Harris and once mused about jailing the homeless. Other loonies include Stockwell Day and Vic Toews. Then ofcourse there is David Emerson, the unaccountable minister who will become a senator, and the Minister of Defence who used to be a defence lobbyist. So not every ethical.
As for Indian Affairs, it might be one of the not so bad areas. From my understanding Jim Prentice is a moderate who ran for leadership of the PC Party against Peter Mackay and is a supporter of same sex marriage. But the presence of Flanagan is worrying. I had no idea he thought of first nations people that way. Shame. Is there any validity to hsi arguments?
Yeah and what about Emerson? What happened there? I was reading an article on the cbc website that said the Liberals demand he repay the $97,000 in campaign spending. But more interestingly, the article stated:
"The new international trade minister, who reacted angrily to the request in a newspaper interview Tuesday night, maintains he ran his constituency office on a non-partisan basis and that he moved to the Tories to serve his constituents better".
Hmmm....do you have any insight into this? I'm baffled.

Well, its BC. What can I say, politicans are whores out here, "ladies of the night" as you will. Ujjal Donash went from NDP to Liberal, and Keith Martin went from Canadian Alliance to Liberal. In short, Emerson cares more about being in power than anything and is really only committed to that. As a busines person like Belinda Stronach, he made a calculated rational decision.
Which pissed off all the people who voted for him, since its a pretty blue collar riding, the type of place that never ever elects conservatives. So its kind of all stupid if you ask me.
there there dovey. it twill all work out in the end. i'm prayin for the big kablamo and then we can all dance and fuck all the live long day in our favourite post-apocalyptic hang-outs! FEASTIE, FEASTIE, FEASTIE!
