well, if it makes you feel better, replacing a bearing isn't too hard, so long as you have the instruction book to the car, which can cost anywhere from $70 to $140 or higher. Then you get to buy the bearing and replace it. As for the CV joint, I've replaced one of those too. That's a bit more annoying, but all do-able. However, as for finding a good mechanic who would do it honestly, I know shoe hasn't complained about "My Favorite Mechanic is a Girl"
