Bleh....

My grandfather is being taken off life support today. My father called from Vegas to say that, while the doctors were preparing to do a tracheotomy for my grandfather's ventilator, a lung ruptured. Da said that it was "a risk inherent in the procedure" and that there was nothing the medical team could do for my granddad. That all happened Wednesday night and on Thursday, my dad went out to Vegas again to be with his mom and be there when the plug was pulled. He told me that they were waiting for Dr. Mandip Arora to talk to them, but the decision had been made. It sounds like the end will be swift, but it really sucks. I got to see him when he still responded to people (he would open his unfocused, glazed eyes and move his head. Also, he could nod and shake his head in response to questions) and that's all that mattered to me. I got to make my peace with him and remind him that we all love him. My grandmother is going to be a mess for a while now, and I don't know how to help other than loving her (which seems like so little to offer, but that's all I got). This is the first family member (close family anyway) that's died, so I'm kinda out of in shock. My mom is upset for both my grandmother and my father. She loved Granddad, but she feels terrible for my grandma and what she's going through, and may even be thinking about what she would do if it was my dad who was dying. It's messed up and I need to find some way to be there for everyone (besides phone calls). Well, I'm guess all I can do be there for the family....I need a hug. Edit: Well, they pulled the plug a few hours ago. Granddad's blood pressure dropped rapidly and the morphine kept it painless. He must have gone quickly. Cheers Granddad...I love you. *end edit* Anyways....

Work is...well, just that. I haven't gotten back into a rhythm yet because Sarah and I had a trip to Glenwood Springs, CO for Spring Break and then last weekend went to Vegas to see my grandparents. This weekend will be interesting to say the least, as I am still trying to get back into the swing of mall business.

Kingdom Hearts II came out on Wednesday, and man, was that insane. There was a line most of the day and people came in with these hilarious expressions and breathlessly asked, "Is it here?" Some seemed like addicts that had gone just too long without a fix, it was bizarre. I got the limited edition guide/art book thingy. It's sweet. I'll be getting the game closer to summer, but that's another story. I did, however, pick up Beatmania US. It's a neat game, but the extra controller sealed the deal. I like the game thus far, but had some of Konami's "brilliant" ideas on unlocking and Free Play rules. It's something I'm sure others hate too...lol.

My cat is a crack addict. She was calmly sleeping on the couch one minute, the next she was tearing through the apartment at light speed. She just attacked KHAN! and scampered off as he gave chase. Man...cats are strange little creatures.

I'm gonna go to work now...maybe hit the arcade and play a game of DDR or something before I have to sell golf tickets! Wheee! ...NEAT! UPS just dropped off my PSP! I sent it into Sony for warranty work (the game door wouldn't stay shut, most annoying when playing DJ Max or Mega Man) and they sent me a replacement! HOORAY! I can play my PSP at work tonight! Great victory!

Catch you all about town or something.

MA out.
