Sleep Well, Jim

Spock first knows that something is wrong when Kirk comes in and goes straight to their bedroom without acknowledging him at all. Concerned, he follows, entering the room in time to see Kirk sit down heavily on the bed and drop his head into his hands. "Computer, lights to twenty percent," he mumbles.
"Are you all right, Jim?" Spock asks, as the lights dim obediently.
"Migraine," Kirk replies without raising his head. "Bad one."
Spock crosses the room and kneels down in front of Kirk, helping him to remove his boots. "Have you taken any medication?"
Kirk snorts. "Tried," he says. "Don't think it stayed down long enough to have an effect."
Spock feels a pang of sympathy. His partner's migraines inevitably lead to intense nausea, enough that attempting to ingest anything at all becomes difficult. Finishing with the boots, he pushes gently at Kirk's shoulders, encouraging him to lie down.
Slowly Kirk moves enough to get into bed, allowing Spock to cover him with the blankets. Spock strokes his fingers through Kirk's hair, feeling him start to relax under his touch. "Would you like me to assist you in achieving sleep?" he asks.
Kirk lets out his breath in a huff. "Yes. Please."
Spock strokes his fingers through Kirk's hair once more before allowing his fingers to settle on Kirk's face. A brief mental touch is all it takes to send Kirk into unconsciousness, where he will hopefully sleep off the worst of the pain.
Satisfied, Spock lets his fingers linger on Kirk's face for a moment longer, listening to him breathe. Kirk shifts slightly under his touch and presses his face into Spock's hand, seeking him out even in sleep, and Spock runs his thumb across Kirk's cheek before reluctantly withdrawing to let his partner rest.
He orders off the lights and pauses in the doorway, looking back.
"Sleep well, Jim."
