I really need to pick up The Hunger Games. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Unfortunately, I have no awesome recommendations for you, as I've been in a big "re-read my favorites" kick. Unless you've never read any Jonathan Safran Foer, because I'm currently re-reading Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, which is *~fantastic~*, and also recommend Everything Is Illuminated.

They are gorgeous. Warnings that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is set post 9/11, and Everything Is Illuminated touched on the Ukraine during Nazi occupation, but they contain both humor and heartbreak, and are just... so, so beautiful.
