I totally forgot Game of Thrones season 2 had debuted! Heh guess who's obtaining all epis through dubious means Heck, I hardly recall how season 1 had ended but guess that's what recaps are for. I'd rewatch it again but I am very lazy to convert all those video files to my ps3. Maybe I'll manage to get the files directly in mp4 already ( Read more... )

Not sure if he's still around. I'd almost finished book one I think until he killed off one of my fav characters (story of my life) and I sulked forever against reading more.~Haha, you know...I thought Breyzy and I were the only people with that problem! It seems like if either of us really likes a character either they get killed off at some point or some really horrible things happen to them over the course of the story (and, we always seem to like T.V. shows and such that end up getting cancelled way too early as well...WEIRDNESS! 0_0;). 'Tis bizarre. Sometimes I've had to stop reading a few stories because of things like that too, there's no shame in that--each person has a different way of looking at things like that, I think! :D (In the most recent one for me where that was the case? It literally was because the author apparently was dedicated to killing off EVERY character that you remotely got attached to in the cast at some point in the story...reading an entire trilogy where I knew that happened over and over again after ( ... )

Yeah I bet he did that on purpose. Like he shoved the character at you and said: here's the dubious protagonist of the book. A decent man among warmongers and political vipers. A good father and husband. Be fond of him. Identify with him. Done? Good. Now off with his head!

Of course no one is expecting for such a character to be off'd in such a way but that's George RR Martin for you. God forbid I am fond of other characters...

Well the most I did after my frustrated attempt at his books was reading spoilers xD; I just wanted to know who else died and whatnot. Can't recall most of them now but I do know he likes killing characters or crippling them >_>;

Yeah i'ts awful but I guess there are those kinds of fans =_= Way to make us look bad. He was laughing about it during the interview so I guess he's not too offended.

(The interview itself is in English. I think the show is just debutting here. Heh as if I wait for the national TV...)

I felt the same way when I read book 1. I was aghast that they killed him (assuming you're thinking of the same character I was). And so suddenly tooo. They were talking about letting him "repent" and take the Night Watch. Next thing, the crazy bastard (sorry, I hope I'm not spoiling anything by calling him that) king wants him dead. I like the hints at the supernatural in the book. I want to think that someday, there will be justice for him.

I've never seen the TV series, but I've read through Book 4. I still need to check Dance of Dragons out, but it's been so long that it wouldn't hurt to re-read. A lot of my stuff is still in storage though (I've moved around so much, and a lot of my stuff is still in a garage in the middle of New Mexico). He's very prone to killing off likeable characters.

He was also at my company speaking. I couldn't go because I was still a contractor at the time (only full-time employees could go, which I am now).

Yeah guess he did it on purpose for the definite shock value. Ya crazy bastard indeed >_>; I always hated the kid.

The show is awesome. Really great. I began by watching it and then I tried the book (I didn't know the saga. Shame on me as English major >_>;)

Here is an interview to the author on the local news (the interview itself is in English.)

Oh and I leave here the epic Intro to the TV shows. I simply love it.
