At the core

So, like I said, I am rewatching old anime I had converted to PSP format. Mostly Mushishi by now (I am attempting to convert Tiger&Bunny but for some reason some episodes don't agree with the converter). I must say Mushishi (fan made intro) gotta be one of my favourite anime/manga. I love legends and supernatural stuff to begin with (like xxxHOLiC ( Read more... )

Oh, I rather like both series you've mentioned here! I fell in love with Mushishi due to its setting, story-telling, and animation...it's definitely a really unique, interesting, and wonderful anime experience (and Ginko is an awesome main character ♥).

And I agree with your thoughts on Tiger & Bunny as well. I'm not a big fan of the animation (I think the CG is overdone and looks fake at times), but I think the general idea behind the plot is very clever and I like how relatable they made the characters despite their superhero status in the show. I'd heard about the movie and rumored second season too...it will be interesting to see what happens with the series in the future!

To be honest, I kind of skipped out on Sailor Moon somehow when I was a kid. XD We were watching anime series like Ronin Warriors, Dragon Ball Z, and Gundam Wing during the time when the English dub was airing over here...so we're some of the odd anime fans out there who don't really have much exposure to it yet (beyond watching one or two of the dubbed ( ... )

And I have yet to start converting Kyou Kara Maou as well. Just so many episodes...

Yup I love Ginko ^^ Always so deadpan lmao. But I love his scientific streak.

Yeah the CG parts feel weird at first, especially mixed with animation. Yeah, I doubt they'll leave Kotetsu like that. I mean he's the life of the show, of course he needs to be a Hero!

Ah I was also busy with Dragon Ball. Hardcore Dragon Ball fan as a kid, even if our dubs made it immensely more ridiculous and annoying xD;

I am curious about the manga version of Sailor Moon (I got the notion it's evry different, like the first FMA and the first anime they made of it...though I never read the manga and I enjoyed the first anime because I was not comparing it to the manga. I never did finish watching the second anime. I think if I dwelled in any FMA fandom I'd be shot for this ^^;)

Me likes some dark stuff =) But I also like developped villains (I disliked Barty from FFXIII because he was your regular old villanous villain whi just wanted...to rule the world!)

Ugh I hate dub names. We also got our own share, only...half of it. We had fairly common names like Bunny (=Usagi, good thing they didn't translated as the Portuguese word for Bunny/Rabbit, that would have been weird), Maria, Joana, Rita...and then we had names they kept from the original like Ami, Haruka... A sort of combo. Of course I very much prefer the originals cuz some of the name adaptation were just horrible (Mamoru=Gonçalo; Hotaru=Otávia - that was the worst...Otávia is mostly a male name, not very common and ugly).

Oh, I've gotta start watching Mushishi - it's just the type of anime I can fawn over :3

Tiger & Bunny is definitely that. I wasn't sure what to think of it at first, but I did find the deeper message to be quite meaningful.

I totally squeed when I found out about Sailor Moon! But yes - we shall see.

It's a really good series =) Only complain I have is that there are only two constant characters - each episode is like a mini story in on itself. But I really like the short stories as well.

Yes, I think I saw someone squeeing over it in my f-list xD

Yup, do so! It's really nice ^^ Don't expect to understand everything right away (It might take a bit to get into the mysticism of it, though they do explain about Mushi a bit in the first episode).
