Frank asked me to post this on my LJ to help get some of the word out there. Wow that was a monster letter. In some ways it reminds me a bit of when you and I took over JAC (though on a smaller scale). I am not that familar with ACEN staff, but I'd like to think they are like we were then - just new to the position and struggling a bit with learning the ropes. If that's the case then things should improve in a year or two when key people get more used to the jobs they're doing.

Perhaps things have changed since I last attended ACEN, but as I've attended other conventions since, I've started to get the feeling that those times I did attend, it was one of the best organized conventions of its size. It's impossible to organize a convention that large and not have *something* go wrong. Whoever wrote the letter might gripe, but I bet he didn't attend last year's AX which I felt was horrendously organized, riddled with poor decisions (example: starting the masquerade before everyone standing in line for HOURS was even SEATED), and way too crowded, with HUGE lines to get into every stinking event.
