„Off to bed, little man! It’s already late and you don’t want to be late for kindergarten tomorrow, right?“ A determined Aiba stood up from the couch in his living room and turned off the television which gained him a disgruntled squeak from behind.

“Don’t turn if off! I want to watch a bit longer... please!”

A little boy, merely one meter tall, jumped up and down on the couch, showing the biggest pout available in his repertoire of cute-faces-that-you-can’t-possibly-resist. But instead of his beloved comedy variety show, he only received a strict gaze and a shaking head in response.

“If you don’t go to bed, I’m afraid I’ll have to enjoy Anpanman’s good night story all by myself…” Aiba imitated the boy’s pout from before, eyes still locked on the child who now just stared angrily back at him.

“I don’t care! I don’t like Anpanman anyways!”

His grumpy expression made Aiba giggle before shrugging his shoulders and walking into the child’s room.

“Well if it’s like that…” Carefully he placed himself on the small bed and took one of the boy’s countless picture books in his hand. Slowly Aiba flicked through the book and started to fake some giggles and laughs in order to attract the boy’s attention. Aiba knew exactly which buttons he had to push to get the little monkey inside the bed.

And - as expected - after approximately thirty seconds of constant fake-giggling, the boy shyly peeped out from behind the door, looking at what Aiba was laughing about. Instead of reacting on the sudden appearance of the child, Aiba continued reading, the smirk on his face widening.

“Papa?”

The quiet voice made Aiba look up, finding two innocent eyes sparkling in the dimmed light.

“Can I read with you?”

Now, he couldn’t possibly resist the little boy, who looked at him in a pleading, excusing kind of way. So he simply nodded and smiled brightly when his son jumped on the bed and snuggled closer to Aiba’s chest.

Finally.

Sho sighed in relief when he turned his key in the lock and heard the familiar click signalizing that the door was being opened. The weight of work lying on his shoulders dropped within seconds when he made the first step into the flat, muttering a quiet I’m home.

It was dead silent in the whole apartment, a single ray of light coming from one of the rooms the only thing that brightened up the place a bit. While loosening his necktie, Sho silently walked from the hallway through the living room to the source of light; a bright smile forming on his lips as soon as he spotted the two reasons that made his life worth living.

Slowly he was tiptoeing inside the room and crouched down next to the small bed, his gaze focused on the two sleeping figures.

“Daddy?”

Sho’s head shot up when he suddenly heard the high pitched voice of his son calling him.

“Did I wake you up?” The concern clearly audible in his undertone.

The young boy slightly shook his head and smiled at his father who started to stroke his cheek.

“Did Papa fall asleep again after reading Anpanman stories?”

“Yeah, he didn’t even make it till the end this time.”

The annoyed pout on the boy’s face made Sho laugh brightly. His hand moved shortly away from the warm skin of his son, up to Aiba’s soft hair that partly covered his eyes. A small sigh escaped Aiba’s mouth when he felt how something was tickling against his cheek and he wriggled in sleep, mumbling some incoherent words. Just those few movements and Aiba’s sleeping face made Sho’s heart race in an incredible speed. Even after years of being together, he still couldn’t calm down at the sight of his beloved one.

The loud yawn coming from his son, made Sho look down to the young boy again who had already closed his eyes. Carefully, Sho placed a blanket over both of them and turned off the light before he moved back to the bed, crouching down once again and watching them until he felt his eyelids getting heavier by second, finally falling asleep on the soft mattress too.

Comment: Did I mention that finding a title is probably the most difficult thing about a fanfic? ;_; This one isn't really creative... I just thought that it fits the story (or at least part of it) and that maybe some of you can read this before getting to sleep in the hope of dreaming about fluffy Sho/Aiba :3 (I always do that. But I hardly ever dream about them. xD)
Actually I wrote this drabble with the motive of wanting to see Sakuraiba as dads, but also because I think that writing fiction about two men having a child shouldn't be fiction anymore. It's sad that nowadays homosexual couples have to fight over the right of getting married and having children. The world is modernizing in all different kind of fields, but still stuck in their conservative stupidity when it comes to sexuality and some parts of family. sorry about this sudden rant

length: drabble, rating: pg, pairing: sakuraiba, genre: fluff, genre: family
