Once again, I didn't forget. My internet went out. Or, rather, I thought it did. I was on minding my own business, playing on neopets and talking to my friend over YIM when BOOM! no internet. NOOOOO!!!!!!!
I left my dad a note and he said to try the DSL splitter. I went out on bloody black friday to find a DSL splitter. No go. I went to Radio Shack, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Office Depot, and Lowe's, and none of them have a DSL splitter. Lowe's however, had extremely helpful employees who were bent on finding me a splitter. They came up with a DSL ready surge protector. Awesome. So I bought that and brought it home and got it all hooked up....still no internet. It wasn't the DSL splitter. My mom suggested I try calling SBC to see if it was the modem that wasn't working. I didn't think it was because the modem said we had a connection and my airport icon had all the bars which means a full signal. I tried anyway.
Talked to a nice guy named Ramon about my internet woes and he talked me through some troubleshooting and blahblahblah no internet. Finally, he just had me connect the modem directly into my dad's desktop and what do you know? INTERNET!!!! WOOOOO!!! Both a good and a bad thing. We have internet, but we don't have a router. Woe. We have two different routers, though, one wireless and one not, and neither of them work. I'm thinking it's maybe one of the cords or something, but honestly, I have no idea.
So, for the time being, I have my laptop connected directly to the modem instead of into the router, which means I'll have internet until my dad gets home and takes it back for his desktop, but that's okay. By the time he gets home, I'll be at work, and by the time I get home, he'll be asleep. So either way, I should have internet for tonight's ethics experiment update. If not, you know why...
Day 73
1. Did not get stuck playing Skip Bo for the 90000000000000 time. (I like the game, don't get me wrong, but it's bloody boring when you play for hours on end)
2. Family only had one fight. Between my sister and my niece's dad, and they were fighting over the phone.
3. Was able to nap.
