people are lame.

though i use my ipod whenever i fly, and i have to play it on the highest volume to be able to hear anything over the "airplane noise"

Best solution for that is to get headphones that block out background noise. (The type that have big pillows that cover your ears.) Ipod "buds" aren't meant to reduce background noise like those types of headphones are.
