First day of the Fall semester was today. I only have one class per day, and today was the 2 hour Human Anatomy lecture/3 hour lab. I must say, my Principles of Human Anatomy teacher last year was a fucking bad professor. His good looks got the best of me for the first months, seriously. I have this amazing lady who studied at Cornell University

I could have told you what lateral epigasttric was! But yeah, knowing the parts of the words is almost more important than knowing the word as a whole. In almost all cases, they describe the position and function. Epi usually means surface or exterior, gastric describes its function, and lateral describes its position in relation to the body.

Agreed. If you're talking anatomy&physiology, that's the concept--position and function. But anatomically speaking, this is just the frontal 9 regions in the anatomical position. It's right in the middle and around the top of the stomach, this particular quadrant.
