I love this poem. And I love the first couplet, although there is a sort of frisson between the image of a cold child under a skirt and the cannon love that blasts so beautifully through the rest of the poem. Thoughts too of the child vs the trampled dwarf. I think I will read it many more times. I know little about Shiva and so was excited to get the references to his family, the mountains. Argh. It is that good, please say something about it.

* i really don't know how i managed to pull this poem out of my ass. it is a good one. shiva takes care of all of us during our darker hours, but also this was a poem about me. as usual. i have to look at it again now to see if i can explain anything to you, love dove.
I'm really not sure why I assumed "sump" was a made-up word that only you would know the secret of.
The "perceived wounds" self-correction is something I keep going back and forth on. Like it calls up the hesitation it indicates, ha.
OK, my next question is, when I want to show somebody this poem IRL, what name should I attach to it? You can IM me if you want, or email (poison.black at outlook dot com).
