I'm in NYC. Just came from dinner with Dad, El and one of her roommates, and Joan and Marion, who were Mom's two best friends - the former now being better known as Dad's girlfriend ( Read more... )

i can't even imagine. i can't believe your father's not even taking the time to be single. maybe he got all his mourning done in round one.

maybe while you're looking through her stuff and trying to figure out where to send her scarves and handbags (hint, hint) you'll find pictures like the ones in that crazy dream I had about the laptop. Perhaps it will shed some light or at least make you giggle. :)

i hope my making light doesn't piss you off. please call if you need to talk.

Love can mean more than that, I know you know how it is, it's hard to not repeat these things though.
I am so sorry things were so hard. It sounds like they continue to be infuriating. I hope it will get easier.

I can relate to the 'widower dating' thing, because no matter how much time passes, it's just weird! My father is weirder than most (understatement of the year contender right there), but there was a time when he was staying in Latvia and *almost* dating a young lady there. By 'young', I mean she was around 23-25. In any case, younger than me, and that's not weird, that's creepy!

Money is also weird, and the more of it you have, the weirder you seem to be.
