Mum will go away and come back later. The new owners did the same with Masquerade and her first foal, so they will love having Masquerade stay with them for another holiday. They're very keen on Masquee also, but couldn't afford to take on 2 more horses. It works for us though, as even the lush spring grass is running short here. I've emailed an arab friend asking if she or anyone she knows is interested in my purebred mare, so hopefully that's a start to selling her too.
AND, I have a friend keen on buying our pinto stallion. He isn't really for sale, but I am considering it as it will be a wonderful home. If she's still keen after meeting him, and the price is right, then as sad as it may be we will part with him. If this happens, though, we will keep one of his sons as a replacement pinto stallion for us.
Would you also keep free services as part of the agreement if you did sell him? or just keep it as a sale. I know all this must be really hard but good on you :) fingers crossed on the potential sales, and fingers crossed they might change their mind while they have mum. Having them both off the property will help you for the short term at least.
Ah, awesome Horse porn!!!!!!! I envy you getting to step outside to such beauty each day:>. I can't wait till my little boy comes home from preschool to show him these pictures. The Percheron mare at our former barn is due to give birth this spring and he carries a little like-a-like stuffed horse named after her asking me constantly when Miss May is going to have a baby. I guess I better find a smaller stuffed 'horse' to give to him when she does:>. There are cows on the next pasture----"mommy, how will the baby eat? Well son, Miss May will feed her milk. Oh good mommy, of course she will cause there are milk cows right there." Gotta work a bit on that understanding. Congrats on the sale!
