Lakeview Knight Patrol (Pat) passed away after battling a severe internal infection. This is the first of my babies (that I have bred) that I have had to farewell to heaven. He was rising 4yo. You have my deepest sympathy. Pat sounded like a wonderful horse...of course those we love are all wonderful but there must have been a deep connection for Pat to have come to you in those final moments. I wish I could send hugs across the sea. We were there this past Oct. and know where your heart must be right now. Hugs and best wishes, Alyclepal/Virag

Thanks for your kind thoughts. I have coped better than I first thought I would, perhaps because I know he is in heaven?
We never had a really close relationship, just due to lack of time, and I am sad that I missed the chance to work with him more.

It's comforting to know that they are free of pain and trauma, for me as well. I feel the way you do though, about the horse we lost a few years ago. Tips was a fantastic, gentle, sweet gelding, and since we lost him, I have regretted that I didn't take more time to spend with him. On the flip side though, it has made me more diligent about making time to work with my gelding, Frost, instead of always thinking "Well there's always time another day".
