Nearly Winter

May 29, 2011 12:05

Winter officially starts 1st June. This Autumn has been such a mix. One day it will reach 20 degrees (celcius) and the next day we will wake to a frost on the ground... or heavy rain and howling cold winds. It is even confusing the daffodil bulbs who have started growing, thinking that it might be Spring ( Read more... )

Ditto on the horse games.. my mighty charger would be fantastic for it once I got on him, that is. ;) *brings ladder*

Here it's all rain and blowing and sudden pressure changes, so my head wants to explode and my nose keeps backing up. The weather everywhere seems utterly a mess.

I love the picture.. Lui really is a handsome guy!

The weather really is nuts.. especially the tornadoes and flooding! We've even had tornadoes in the north of NZ, which is almost unheard of! (just little ones, but one fatality nevertheless)

Mother Nature has been VERY busy... especially with all the earthquakes too.. I just feel like I am waiting for the next big quake. My work still hasn't re-opened since the Feb 22nd quake :(

drought is VERY un-fun. I feel for you :(
Do you not have any SCA groups in your area?
Unfortunately for SCA Equestrian you really do need to be involved (or at least interested) in other aspects of the SCA, but there may be a few other groups around like horse-archery and jousting...?

Here in little old New Zealand there isn't much. I think one jousting group (in the North Island, and I'm down here in the South) and a horse archery group about 5 or 6 hours drive from me. The good news is that in our area here (within an hours drive of each other) there are 5 of us SCAdians who are into it, and several more riders that have a go on the horses that we have. We are still new to it, mind you... and I'm the least accomplished of us! lol.

There is only one annual SCA event in New Zealand that caters for the horses, and we've only had the horses there for 3 years so far.

ceinwyn77 has recently returned from Australia, where she spent 2 weeks doing AMAZING medieval horse stuff! At IronFest ( ... )
