Of Faith, Power, and Glory: review

Thus far, my ordering of VNV Nation albums (just the main studio releases, not any of the singles or compilations), first to last in order of preference, goes:

Empires >>> Judgment > Matter and Form > Futureperfect >> Advance and Follow (v2) >> Praise the Fallen

I'm not certain yet where to stick Of Faith, Power, and Glory since I haven't

Hmm.

My feelings:
PTF >> Empires >> Futureperfect >> Advace and Follow (v2)

The others unranked, because I haven't kept up with new music.

I dunno, I just really like PTF. Perhaps it is because I grew up with it.

Huh. I really dislike Advance and Follow, although "Cold" and "Fiume" are ok. I think Praise the Fallen is ok, except, of course, for "Solitary", which is glorious. Empires and Futureperfect are amazing, and Matter+Form is pretty damn good. Judgement is ok.

I liked Of Faith, Power and Glory a lot, although I think it is not as good as the three I really like. You're right about the flatness of the sound, though.

So, I would say

Empires/Futureperfect > Matter+Form > OFP&G > Judgement > Praise the Fallen >>> Advance and Follow
