Augh, I am a moron who can't read. Amazon's estimate for my Retro Game Challenge order isn't a delivery estimate, it's a SHIPPING estimate.  The actual delivery estimate is somewhere between two weeks to a month away! I knew this could happen, but I was a cheapskate anyway.  I knew free shipping meant Amazon just holds on to it to punish people for ( Read more... )

Sometimes their delivery estimates can be off by a week.

I remember ordering something once that would take 2 weeks to be delivered, per Amazon's estimate. It shipped the following day and was delivered within 5 days.

Not saying it happens that way all the time, but that unless you pay for priority shipping, Amazon will inflate their delivery estimates so you can't get pissed off about it should it be delivered later rather than sooner (like a pair of shoes I bought that were shipped the next day and inexplicably ended up at a nameless Ohio UPS facility first, sat there for 2 days, and then had to be rerouted back my way, which meant that their estimate was just about right due to boneheaded human errors of some kind).

Maybe the barcode on super saver boxes actually says "play soccer with this box across the country."

I had a book that wasn't supposed to be shipped for another 2 weeks, but I got it in the mail yesterday *shrug* maybe you'll get it soon!
