One of the biggest things for me isn't what he might do with the country now- it's what's been done in the minds of all of those minority school children watching him be sworn in as President of the United States on their television sets.

It's happened. It can't be undone. The fact that he did it marks a fundamental change in the way those kids are going to see themselves and the world. (Not that it will be perfect, of course, things never are, but I remember when we had the first woman VP candidate - NOT Sarah Palin - and how I thought, when I was young, 'I can do that, too!' - Kids having that thought will significantly change their expectations of themselves, even if they don't want to be President. Because if he can be President, they can be doctors and lawyers and movie stars and CEOs and so on.)
