The films I always link to Christmas are:

- It's a Wonderful Life... a classic. Actually, I saw it just recently. I really love James Stewart.

- Home Alone

- A Christmas Carol... the classic one, I mean, there are a lot of versions that try to give it a modern look, but I'd rather have it the way Mr. Dickens plotted it. There's also a recent animated version which I think is good too.

- The Grinch... so funny.

- Polar Express. Whenever I see this one, I get teary at the end when they refer to the loss of innocence and faith when children grow up

There are also a few Spanish films.

- La Gran Familia (Big Family): It is a film about a huge family (maybe 13 children or more), and it is not totally about Christmas but the last part is, when one of the children is lost/abducted. Very emotional

- Se armó el belén (difficult to translate, but it means something like 'what a mess'). It is about a priest who tries to organize a living nativity scene in the village. Very, very funny.

Ok...I've to say something shocking but I don't think I've ever seen It's a wonderful life!
I don't know why but this movie has never been aired, at least as long as I remember, surely not in the last years. So I've always heard about it, and known its generally plot, but never saw it. :S

Instead I watched Home Alone a lot when I was a kid! But I don't think I've seen it on TV in the last years...

I watched the last Christmas Carol, the classical one made with CG animation at the cinema. It was good and very faitfull to the original story written by Dickens, but I don't like very much this kind of live-motion animation... I like Pixar movies and old fashioned animated movies, but not when they use real persons and transform them into cartoon. I don't know, it always looks a bit too fake for me...

Se armò el bèlen sounds like a very funny movie!! :)I'm sure it makes you laugh a lot!

PS: Enjoy your Dias de lor Reyes tomorrow!

I'm glad you didn't have any material damage because of the storm but 8 inches of snow and -9 °F sound REALLY cold for a Southern European like me! Brrrr!

LOL...I guess that with interesting you meant ...crazy! XD

Fantaghirò WAS interesting, indeed. It was the first TV mini-series based on a fairy-tale and it was very innovative when it was aired for the first time. The special effects are a bit too naive, especially if you are watching them not but the plot of the first tv series was pretty good. The princess pretends to be a male knight of her father's kingdom and faces the prince of the enemy country to end the war. The sequels instead aren't as good as the first movie.
In this case, isn't that the story is outdated (is a fantasy tale after all) is that some of the actors are really bad and some of the lines are too cheesy for a grown adult!

I heard a lot of good things about Breaking Bad, but unfortunately is only aired on a Pay-Per-View channel, as many of the good series nowadays! :(
