In conclusion: Star Trek.
Saw it with friends opening weekend. Watched it with my gf last night. Watching it with my bff this weekend. As you can tell, I enjoyed the movie. And I adore the hell out of Spock/Uhura.
My parents were both avid viewers of Star Trek when I was younger, and my dad is like the biggest geek I've ever met. Except for my mom who is so freaking precious with her love of fantasy and horror that I can't stand it. These are my parents and I love them. They instill in me a love of the fantastical and surreal and uncharted. I'm not quite the big SFF fan that they are, but I have fond memories attached to the genre, so I will always consider myself a fan.
And I'm definitely not alone. This is my voice.
