I'm going to start with the first book I've read this year: Deaf sentence by David Lodge
I heard about this book in a tv show here in Argentina where celebrities and famous people talk about their favourite books and authors. I thought the idea for the plot was really good but I was a bit disappointed with the end product.

Since you mentioned the misheard conversation between the two characters, I kind of wanna find out about it now. Could you quote some of those particular parts? Hee. :)
