Summary : Making promises is a good thing. But, what if keeping them becomes impossible?
He should have known. How could he let this happen? Daiki told him earlier when he just arrived to the hospital that Yuri fainted during work. He knew the risks so well, so why didn't he stop the chibi? Ryosuke was blaming himself for everything that his little angel had to go through. If only he was by his side more often. If only he could protect him. No, the chubby cheeked boy kept making mistakes, one after the other.
He was so blind. Did he even have eyes? How could he not notice the change in Yuri's health? Why had he not seriously thought once about the chibi's health whereas Daiki said he had heart problems lately? What was wrong with him?
Everything was.
Everyone knew, except him.
Ryosuke could not help putting all the blame on himself. It concerned the person who gave a meaning to his life after all. The latter was now lying on the hospital's bed, in a private room. The bright light of the shining Sun crossed the windows and revealed the perfect features of the chibi. Even when he was sleeping, he was beautiful. His lips were a bit parted, Ryosuke found it cute. The latter stroke Yuri's hair gently, moving his front hair on the side and uncovering his forehead.
Yuri will be unable to work for a while. He knew that would sadden the black haired boy. As for Ryosuke, he would be happy if it was not replaced by something worse. He heard it from Yabu sensei earlier, one of the most talented doctors there. He had to be hospitalized for two weeks minimum, which sounded much more serious. At least, he was glad that it was in his own workplace, so that he can watch over his beloved all the time. But knowing that Yuri's condition was gradually worsening... It was worrying him to death.
He was standing next to the bed, where Yuri was lying unconscious. Ryosuke grabbed his own shirt, the part where his heart was placed to be exact. He was the one making mistakes so why did Yuri have to suffer the most?

Ryosuke asked the permission to spend the night at the hospital, so that he could watch over Yuri the whole time. Consequently, a bed was moved into the room especially for the brown haired boy. However, he was not able to close his eyes during the whole night. Yuri's condition preoccupied his mind too much. He wanted to make sure that the chibi will open his eyes. When he realized trying to sleep was useless, he put himself in a comfortable position that allowed him to look at Yuri.
Alas, at seven in the morning, he did not open his eyes yet. As for Ryosuke, he began to feel the effects from lacking of sleep, so he made another attempt to sleep. And he succeeded this time, at least for three hours. Around ten, when he woke up, the first thing he did was to check whether Yuri was awake or not. Not long after doing so, he sighed in despair : the younger remained unmoving.
After a few minutes, Ryosuke heard the sound of someone stirring in his sleep. It could only be him. Then, the rapidity he had when he moved to be in a sitting position was almost inhuman. His eyes were wide open, hoping secretly for the other to finally wake up. Yuri was indeed moving and slowly, his brown orbs became visible too.
"Ohayou, Yuri~" Ryosuke greeted him, trying his best to hide his excitement.
He did not really want the other to know that he waited for hours, for that precise moment. The chubby cheeked boy knew him too well : the chibi would worry about him not getting enough sleep, and all that stuff. That would only add more stress for Yuri, and it was not the right time. He did not need that. Thus, Ryosuke headed to the bed, without seeming in a hurry, as if it was just a coincidence that he was conscious when Yuri opened his eyes for the first time.
The latter greeted him back with a smile.
"How are you feeling?" The older asked, while sitting on the chair placed just next to the bed.
Yuri replied that he was perfectly fine and that as soon as he would be out of bed, he could be able to jump around everywhere. When he said that, both of his hands moved to a thumbs-up position, accompanied by the brightest smile ever. How could he say that so easily? Ryosuke could not help wondering if his lover was telling the truth.
"Really?" He asked.
The younger nodded. Not spending more time on the question, it was then Yuri's turn to inquire. He noticed the bags under Ryosuke's eyes, thus he wanted to make sure the older was getting enough sleep. While asking this, he tilted his head to the side cutely, making the chubby cheeked boy blush.
"Eh? O-of course, I sleep enough!" The latter stuttered, looking away in order to avoid Yuri's glance.
As for the chibi, he pouted out of disappointment and had that look that clearly said "Liar.".
"Fine..." Ryosuke sighed in defeat. "I stayed awake the whole night because I was worried..." He finally admitted.
At first, Yuri called him an idiot but then, he lowered his head and mouthed a "I'm sorry". The brown haired boy raised his hands and shook them, as well as his head, to make the chibi understand he did nothing wrong.
"No no no, it's not your fault!"
He was about to add something else when his phone rang.
"Shit, I forgot to turn it off." He cursed.
However, when he saw the name of the caller, he could not ignore it. Consequently, he had to let Yuri alone for a while.
"Sorry, I'll be back soon."
Seeing Yuri's nod, he made his way to the door. Yet, he realized he had forgotten something else.
"Oh and Dai-chan should arrive soon! So don't fall asleep or he might sulk..." He added sarcastically just before leaving the room.
Then, he answered the call, telling the person on the other side to wait a little until he would be in a calm place, where mobiles were authorized. When he reached that place, which was a park, he put the phone to his ear again.
"Hello, Yamada Ryosuke speaking."
"Yamada-san, it's about your order. It was done today. Should it be ready now, so that you can pick it up?" The other person asked.
"No, it's okay. You can keep it in the stockroom. I'd like it to be ready on the date I indicated formerly." Ryosuke replied.
"It'll be ready. Have a nice day!"
After returning the polite phrase, the chubby cheeked boy hung up and put the mobile back to his pocket. He could not stop himself from grinning stupidly. Nevertheless, he thought he should come back to the room fast, before Yuri might suspect him.
When he arrived there, he saw someone else talking with the black haired boy : Daiki. As soon as the latter noticed Ryosuke's presence, he got up from the chair (the same as Ryosuke's earlier) and approached him. When he was close enough, he punched the younger hard on the shoulder, making him whimper in pain.
"Hey! What was that for?!" Ryosuke shouted, acting as if he was victimized.
"Don't play dumb!" Daiki snapped back. "Chii told me what you said before leaving. And there was no way he would have fallen asleep before I arrived, because he loves me more than you~" He added with a smugly face.
Half-sitting, Yuri was enjoying the scene before him. His eyes did a back-and-forth, looking at the two boys who were arguing and he was unable to restrain his urge to burst out laughing. However, he was forced to stop when he felt Ryosuke's intense gaze on him. The chibi's expression then changed to the most innocent one.
"You love me more, right.. Yuri?" Ryosuke asked the youngest one, with an intimidating tone.
Yuri looked at Ryosuke then at Daiki, while both of them had their eyes directed at him. Glancing at Ryosuke was more dangerous though, because he was way too influential. The chibi was staring at his hands which were stacking. It was his own way to forget the others' presence for a while and 'talk' with himself. That's why he was in his own world after that, racking his brains to find the right answer. When he found it, he raised his head instantly with a joyous expression, as if he had been reflecting forever. Ryosuke and Daiki chuckled at the adorable face he was making. Yuri grinned at them, saying he loved both of them just as much. The two concerned boys looked at each other : Ryosuke had a shocked expression, not believing what he just heard, while Daiki had the smirk of a winner.
"Wait... Tell me that's not true! Yuriiiiii~" Ryosuke whined, only to make his lover and friend laugh and make fun of him.
"Face the facts, Yama-chan... Thanks, Chii!" Daiki's smirk turned into a sincere smile when he thanked the youngest.
"Anyway, to talk about something most serious..." He continued, facing Ryosuke with an expression that showed he really meant those words.
"I told Chii that he couldn't work for now." His eyes were then directed to the said person.
An almost inaudible 'ah' came out of Ryosuke's mouth. He planned to tell it to his lover himself, yet Daiki beat him to it. He did not mind though. Daiki was their best friend after all. His mind rather drifted to something else. How would Yuri react?
"Yuri, I--" He started speaking but the chibi cut him short, shaking his head calmly.
Yuri reassured his boyfriend, admitting that it was his own fault and that he rated himself too highly. He was not as tough as he pretended to. Thus, he added that he simply got what he deserved. Yet, he would find something else to fill his free time and obviously, rest as much as he needed to. Finally, he smiled telling Ryosuke not to worry.
"Yuri..." The latter mumbled, making some steps towards the bed.
Then, it happened in a fraction of second. The chubby cheeked boy took Yuri in his embrace, hugging him tightly. So tightly that the chibi was having a hard time breathing. He let Ryosuke know so that he would loosen his hold a little. Just a little though.
"I'm sorry, Yuri... It's just that I love you too much!" Ryosuke confessed.
He was so happy to the extent he cried of joy.
And Yuri thought it was okay even if Ryosuke was holding him a bit too tightly.
He could forget about it since that heartwarming hug filled him with happiness.
A/N : Is this happy enough? Will you guys forgive me now? >.<
I wrote this fast, so I apologize for the mistakes.. yes, the second (long) part wasn't in the story before. But I wrote it for those who wanted something happy :D okay, maybe this sucks though.
