My boss is not the most mild-mannered, dispassionate individual. Still, we've been through a number of staff changes, and he has responded mildly to those. But when I gave my notice, he slammed his fists down on his desk and yelled "&@^# me!"
Typical, right? You're valued most in your absence.

I just left a job recently and one of the employees there and I were friendly. Now that I'm gone, you would have thought we were best friends. E-mails, lunches, phone calls.
Bizarre.
But hey, take what you can get and congratulations!

And it's still better than hearing, "You're leaving? I didn't even realize that you worked here."
