Why is it that when Israeli helicopters flatten houses in response to religious extremists carrying out a suicide bombing targetting civilians, they are denounced as monsters, yet when relgious extremist fuckups burn an Embassy in response to a fucking cartoon, nobody calls them on it, and all the Danes can do is say "Now, we didn't mean to offend ( Read more... )

I must say, I've seen more people call Muslims fuckups (OWTTE) than Jews fuckups (OWTTE).

But yes. Burning embassies is a bit much. Flags, yeah ok. Effergies, a bit creepy but essentially harmless.

Embassies is definitely overreaction, though. OK, so someone depicted Mohamed (this is prohibited in Islam law) in a few cartoons. Those people weren't muslim or in a muslim country, so they weren't technically doing anything wrong. OK, so maybe the cartoons were still offensive, but most cartoons are to someone or other. Get over it.

I am VERY tempted to wear a shirt with that picture on it, but I often go through brunswick on my way to uni, so I may die very quickly. And like, I'll have to fend off fucking arts students when at uni.

Also, Shira law applies ONLY to Muslims. If I want to draw Mohammed I will fucking draw mohammed, most likely with roller skates and a jetpack, smiting infidels left right and centre.

How about something a bit more diplomatic, like a bright orange T-shirt with a smiling mohammed (with good luck bomb hat) giving everyone a double thumbs up. Underneath there could be something touching like "Mohammed is A-Okay!". That way you'll be giving a fair and balanced representation of Islam.
