OOo, I like this a lot. You capture Kel's stoicism and thought processes very well, and I am quite fond of Zahir at the end.

I really like the idea of any kind of interaction between Zahir and Kel, post-knighthood and once they've both grown up a bit. I've toyed with Kel/Zahir, but this fic wanted to be gen, and it fit Zahir's personality to be married + children.
