"When winter first begins to bite
And stones crack in the frosty night,
When pools are black and trees are bare,
'tis evil in the wild to fare."

Where did that one come from? It doesn't sound like The Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit.

Actually, it is in Lord of the Rings. It's one of Bilbo's songs.

I have an excellent reading of it by Christopher Lee accompanied by the Tolkien Ensemble. It gives me chills!

Hmm. Strange. I must be slacking off.
I was kind of hoping you had discovered one of his stand-alone works. You know, the stuff that's really good but is overshadowed by the hobbit-books so no one ever reads them?

Christopher Lee has one of those voices that you want to carry around with you in a bottle to use whenever you wanted. Him, James Earl Jones, and Adam West.
