Are you guys available next week-end to help me take my scooter the rest of the way apart? I really want to try and get it up and running soon. I have both Saturday and Sunday off and my schedule is completely clear. I think it would be great if you got a bike (and joined the Aristocrats, of course).
Say, how much is that Madass bike? I like it! A lot!
Ok. Food nerd alert.
Natural peanut butter is more peanut-y than Jiff or Skippy. Rather than switching the butter for more peanut butter, I'd recommend adding more salt to the batch to bring out the flavour and maybe cutting back a little on the flour. What happens often in baking sweets is people think you don't need salt because it's a sugar-thing when actually the opposite is true - you need salt to enhance the flavour of the sugar-thing. This is why so many chocolate-y baked goods are a grave disappointment.
Oh, that may have been it. The recipe didn't call for any salt at all so I bet it was designed for Jif. It's currently equal fat-to-flour, so maybe I'll try tweaking that too.
Off the top of my head: 1c fat 1c peanut butter 1c sugar 1c brown sugar 2 eggs 2c flour 1t soda 2c chips At...I want to say 325 for ~11 minutes.
Oooh, yeah. Definitely need salt. And seriously, use real butter if you can. It's actually healthier than margarine and the danger to your cholesterol is minimal unless you've got some scary congenital/hereditary problem (or any actual problem at all). I know you're supposed to use unsalted butter in baking and I do, except for cookies. I use salted butter for that, because my grandmother did, and her cookies were the absolute best in the world.
