Like many people that I know, I was raised to believe that there is a God and that he/she controls and created everything.  When I was unsure about the way something worked, I believed that angels, God, or Jesus made it work.  Lightning was Jesus playing with Heaven's light switch, thunder was angels bowling, wind was God whistling, waves were made ( Read more... )

My suggestion is to read the Celestian Prophecy, loff. Having an understanding of faith and fact are two different things. There is nothing wrong with believing in a higher power. One thing that everyone must understand is that the Bible is written by man. Man's interpretation of how things are, god did not come down and write the book. Every story in there was meant to help the people of that time to understand their faith. However, times are changing, technology is more advanced and people are beginning to have a shift in consciousness.

I had this same delima many years ago.

Blood, keyboard. >.<

Anyways, as I was saying. There comes a point in everyone's life time where they have to choose what they want to believe. Having faith and understanding our world do not walk hand in hand because of those contradictions you have mentioned. However, no where does it say you can not understand the truth and not have faith.

Interesting thoughts, hon. As you know, I'm an atheist, but I used to go to scripture in primary school, and it all used to make 'sense'. I don't care what a person believes, just so long as they think about it like Niccy and you have. :)
