What we wear flag neckties and scarves? That we don't want to damage our clothing with pins and thus put stickers on our satchels instead?

Seriously, I think it says more about the creators of the quiz (ie Slate magazine, owned by Bill Gates, Bush Supporter) than anything else.

I dunno--they stereotype a Republican/red as a country-music-lovin' down-south grits-eatin' Wal-mart-shoppin' hick, too.

All right, what that's saying to ME is that if one is a Democrat/blue, one believes that wearing a pin of the American flag was not appropriate after September 11. When taken literally, that's what that question means. American flag typically represents patriotism...so you see where I'm going with that?

Umm, that if everyone was republican we would be wearing national symbols forever after Declaration of Independance happend?

To me, it's basically saying that if one is a Democrat, one does not think that wearing a pin of the American Flag is appropriate. At all.

I know a teacher who is a Democrat and maybe he doesnt participate in a lot of patriotic acts, but he did buy the little US flags for his car and hung a big US flag from his balkony after the 9-11 attack.

One of the best History teacher as well.

Oh, yeah, I'm not arguing that Democrats aren't patriotic--not at all. The opposite, really. I'm pointing out how ridiculous that quiz is.

It says one of two things:

1. The creators of the quiz were biased

2. The creators of the quiz found bandwagon patriotism to be unpatriotic in itself.

Or else they're Republicans who think Democrats aren't patriotic.

I concur. But I also feel that would fall into the biased bit - it's not fair to classify all democrats as standing for the same things, or all republicans standing for the same things. It's a pretty vauge label.
