I went to the local Humane Society today to ask what their policy on taking in animals is. This is what the woman told me:

They get forty to sixty cats and kittens a day. They are evaluated based on health, tempermant, and I believe she said age was a factor. If they don't pass any of these tests (and she insinuated that the standards were very ( Read more... )

Holy shit. O_O. I didn't think that happened! waah. I wonder if it's just that branch, or... probably all of them. That's so sad.

I knew it happened, but not to that extent. It's outrageous, and definitely not in a good way.

If that's what it's like all over the country, I express my amazement that Bear made it through the cracks. She had the temperment for adoption, but certainly not the health or grooming.

I have no words to express the sorrow I feel for these animals, and especially for those who were sent from you.

I hope it takes you the time you need with them to find homes for them. If I had to give up Pixie... I'm not sure what I'd do.
