I have been making progress on the sweetbag (slowly) but have not posted in a while so here it is. Hopefully, I can get moving on this and get started on the other side.
I am moving along on the silver, but due to a busy work schedule I have only worked on it in the evenings.
I also sketched out the new outfit I want to work on. I used the girl's crayons, of which there are only a few left, so the colors are off. She helped me color it! The swatches are shown beside the drawing.
The pattern will be similar to my Fitted English Gown with shoulder rolls and either paned sleeves or open sleeves. The main fabric is a turquoise wool blend (middle of the 3 swatches). The trim will be 7/8" black velvet ribbon folded in half. I really want black ribbon since it does not make as much mess and trying to make bias strips of black velvet. It will be lots of hand-sewing for the trim but the luster of the velvet just looks good with the turquoise. The other swatch is a turquoise/lime green shot silk that I picked up for the turn-back of the collar, sleeve rolls, and lining of the sleeves. I plan to wear it over the grey kirtle I already have.
