SO EPIC! And now I wanna see it. Even though I have no money or time or anything... it reminds me strongly of the earlier (i.e. excellent) seasons of Lois and Clark. Thanks so much for relaying it in so much detail. ♥

Well, The Max Mencken character is because the villain in the original play was named that, he was a reporter at the planet who hated Superman and was working to expose him and trying to get Lois to date him instead of loving Superman. They changed him to a Lex type character but kept the original villain name. I have no idea why they decided to name Jimmy something different, except they might not have gotten permission to use any Superman canon characters who weren't already in the play. All of the Society villains were clearly other DC Villains (Joker, Toyman, Magpie) but with different names.
