So I watched bridesmaids, i think with Margaret. I think we had apprehensions going into it but decided to check it out, it was all the rage after-all. If you enjoyed bridesmaids and lack the humility to hear someone say something very negative about the movie, exit here---->()*() We both really didn't like it very much at all im afraid pardon me ( Read more... )

I agree with this to some extent, however I did find some funnies in the movie. When I watched it, I remember it just made me sad because the main character was so...desperate?

Yah i got a sense of desperation throughout. The people they were portraying were pathetic. And they put way too much weight on really stupid things, which most people would jsut shrug off and move on, maybe laugh at themselves a little. I love my story about crapping in the street, i tell it all the time, its a point of pride not shame.

I feel like there were a couple laughs in the movie, but overall it was just not very good. And people who say it's a great movie often have to bring up the fact that it's WOMEN, being FUNNY! I it is a case of reverse sexism, which is sexism in itself. A lot of middle aged white males who feel guilty about being male. We have put together a list of funny women, but really, I would not want to see a movie that revolves around 'women's issues' and would rather just see a funny movie about funny people in funny situations, regardless of sex. For example, I am really looking forward to seeing the new movie 'what to expect when you're expecting.' Go watch the trailer, it looks aaaah-maaaze-ing

I haven't seen Bridesmaids but I'm sure the 40+ year old women it's targeted towards enjoyed and gasped at its envelope pushing poo scenes. I won't see it until it's a last option on the airplane. I will then fast forward most of it, giggle at a few scenes and curse the fact that I can't sleep before starting a Harry Potter marathon. This is how these movies should be enjoyed by those of us ruined by modern envelope pushing media. I was recently reading an article on the glories of the fast forward button and how hour long shows that meander and cause distress can be enjoyed in a fraction of the time. I believe that is the proper way to consume mass appeal media.
