Why did you get a fake Yoshimura can instead of a real one? The name Yoshimura is Japanese and hence it wouldn't be spelled out in katakana which is reserved for loan words like "beer" (ブイル). It should be 吉村 or another variant.

It's most certainly not a fake - that's a Yoshimura USA can, developed in Pops Yoshimura's operation in California. The Yoshimura logo has been like that since he started his business in the USA. Yoshimura also still have an operation in Japan, using the katakana logo as well.

http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/t-company.aspx?v=co gives some details of the history.

Very discreet... I assume the noise is less so?

I had a set of Akrapovics fitted to the SP2 today, which are similarly discreet.

It's very nice.

I had Akropovic fitted to the GS, but it's stil very quiet. Well, compared to the KTM anyhow.

To be fair, ambient noise at G0, H +0.01 @ 1000m over Hiroshima is quiet compared to the KTM.

Indeed. I have just ridden it to work - it's like driving Chernobyl No. 4 through central London.
