heyy nora! i went last year. the protest itself has its issues, but the trip down and back (24 hours in a van each way) was incredible and it's how i made the majority of my current closest friends here. so, going for the experience can definitely be worth it. and one of my best friends, who's a jesuit, also found the protest really personally meaningful and liked seeing other jesuits protesting and that was pretty awesome. but from my perspective--it seems like one huge white hippie activist party, thrown in the middle of a non-white, working class military base town that for the most part really doesn't want us there and just tries to endure us. and i don't think it's the most effective protest anymore, either. at the same time--people come from all over and you meet some amazing people, you'll have a great time getting there and back (hopefully) and things being problematic isn't always a reason not to go--it just means keep thinking and analyzing throughout. good luck, have fun whatever you do :)

1) Anything you can do to help save lives is, I think, pretty high priority.
2) Even if it's not effective, you need to see what's not working to figure out what will.
