Dry Sandford Pit, Saturday:

Student 1: It's cold!
Student 2: Aaargh, the rain is getting in at my neckline and it's running all down my back!
Tutor: Drat, it seems that my waterproofs have stopped being waterproof!
Me:

...seriously, why did they ever go out of fashion?!

LARPing this weekend I went for my normal anti-cold and wet measures of hiking boots, spare dry socks, thermal layers and a pashmina which proved amazingly warm and dry.

They dry significantly quicker than days in a centrally heated house, though. Or when worn.

The lack of hands is occasionally irritating, but I can work around it in exchange for the presence of warmth and dryness :)
