Can anyone give me some feedback on their experiences at New School? Classes, Faculty, administrative offices? Anything?

Thanks

Haha... ask more specific questions? I'm full of information, but I don't think I should be rambling on about things you don't want to hear. What are you thinking of majoring in/what would you like to know about admin/etc? Here to help.

Ramble away. I am going to be a Media Studies major in their grad school. Any profs to stay away from? Administrative problems to look out for? Any profs that are particularly good? I want to go in with my eyes wide open. Thanks

Ah, well I'm just a sophomore at Lang, but the Media Studies program here is pretty progressive and I've heard good things.

As far as administration, there are often a lot of problems contacting people you want to contact, in terms of registration, admissions, financial aid, and whatnot. I've found the phone system to be horrible but the email approach to be 200% better.

If you use this handy link: http://www.newschool.edu/directory/dirname.html

and simply search for the person you want to contact, it's a lot more likely you'll be able to talk to a human. Other than that, if you need to honestly talk, just be persistent and friendly with the operators, and you'll probably get where you want to go.

I've seen a lot of people get really frustrated with the whole process, but honestly, I've gotten used to it and now I can even chat with the higher-ups with no problems.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do!
