want to watch the west wing episode about hate crime legislation? it probably won't help you write your paper but it's really good and it has a lot of conflict between the smart and super-liberal people on the show about whether the laws are constitutional or not.

Is it right to legislate against what people are thinking? Surely killing someone is killing someone, regardless of their motivations.
