I think I may have talked myself into another tattoo. There has been a miami Ink marathon on the tele all day and it is seriously making me consider the sting. There are a couple of things I have always wanted to have on me but for awhile I had myself convinced that tattoos were a thing of my past and that I would never ever get another one. Totally tangential question; how is the Rob Dickinson CD? I have read a couple of favorable reviews but having soured on the last couple of Catherine Wheel releases I've been hesitant to pick it up.

For what it's worth, I say get the tattoo. :)

The album is shades of Cahtering Wheel with some substantially more mellow tracks- I have only listened to it a couple of times so I can't really give you a solid critique. I could compare it mildly to Coldplay I suppose, less sappy lyrics though- He does rock out on a couple of songs- Rob Dickinsons voice has always made me feel kind of misty- I was a huge Catherine Wheel fan so its just nice to hear him record again. I will be more equipped after I give the album a listen- if you want I can email you a track or two- karmel2305@yahoo.com

Based solely on your comments, I gave a listen to "My Name is Love" and "Bathe Away." I dare say I thought they were both on par with some of the more memorable Wheel material. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the CD in the used bin of the local indie record store.

For the record, I was also a big Catherine Wheel fan. I absolutely adored the 'Ferment' release and drifted away countless hours to "Black Metallic." They were a pretty good live band as well and I was fortunate enough to see them twice.

Hmmm...I may have to dig out the Wheel CDs now. :)

It's funny, after hearing Mr. Dickinson's steamy vocals, I was knee deep into my cd collection searching out Catherine Wheel. It is funny, I haven't much thought of them until recently- it may well be one band I never get tired of. I have seen them also and you are right, they are pretty good live- hope Rob decides to tour- better yet, hope he makes it a small venue! Cheers!
