A good friend of mine, zannyvix has recently moved into the area. She's in Lombard. She's looking for work. Her hubby got a new job in the area so they moved, but she's kinda stuck out there all alone ( Read more... )

I'm sorry, I have no leads! :( There are Blick art stores, at least one of which (in Wheaton) was looking for a manager, last I heard. Maybe she can network at the meet-ups there? Lombard and Wheaton aren't too far from each other.

Thank you for looking! I'll let her know. :D Any ideas and leads are good 'cause she's kinda down and that makes looking for anything kinda suck :(

She did try to go to one open studio at a local place but she didn't like it so much since everyone there was over sixty x_x maybe she'd have better luck if she went closer to the University?

Any time! And I know how looking for work sucks. Hopefully this place will have a younger crowd for her? And did she check out the CoD? Er, College of DuPage. They're a pretty good community college; I'm sure there will be some local art groups through them.

I hear that the people who go to the Blick meetups are pretty serious business and all about their art, so maybe there will be some good leads there?
