I for one welcome our new turkey overlords

A family of wild turkeys has fallen into the habit of visiting my patio to gobble up (heh heh) the leftover bird seed falling from the feeders. They cluck and gobble and scratch like extremely large chickens, and fascinate the hell out of the cats. I managed to get a picture of Darth Katie and one of the overlords having a staring contest.

I'm a bit conflicted on the subject of turkeys. I was trapped in my car by turkeys once...though they could have been troubled young turkeys, acting out and all.

It was pretty funny, actually. :)

I think turkeys, like geese and swans, are foul-tempered creatures to be enjoyed from a distance. I certainly wouldn't want to be surrounded! Maybe they can be repelled by squirt-bottles, like naughty kitties. *g*
