Lanny, are you move to LA area? Make sure you file a businesses license as a freelance. So you have the exemption and don't have to pay "LA city tax" for the freelance income. :)

For last year I apply a temp seller permit for AX, remember? LA city somehow think I open a store in LA and said I didn't pay for the city tax for the last 3 years. They asked for $1500 within 15 days or they will put my file to some collection agency. It solved out at the end. So tell your family keep checking your mail in case something like this send to your old address.
