Is LJ Hijacking Your Friends Page Too?

I just happened to look at my Friends' Page while not logged in, and I notice that about a third of it is taken up by LiveJournal choosing to advertise other journals in the same space under a "LiveJournal Today" section.  That needs to go.   I've sent in a complaint about this because I don't see where this can be changed and I am hoping for a

You could always join "the social site that shall not be named" and come play in our Stargate friends group. :)
