Hey guys. I know this comm is pretty quiet, but I thought I might post anyway. Firstly to say, on a bit of a crazy whim, I decided to cross a few of Cam's wires and get him stuck speaking Asgardian. (Represented through backward typing, thanks to dear Hermiod's mutterings)

Currently I'm holding that his team (that might be the one with Jess, mebbe?) came across an old Asgard base on a planet once under the Protected Planet Treaty. The planet was razed by the Replicators, but one of the caves gave off an energy signal strong enough to investigate. When they found the old communications center (much like the sort of thing on any of the Asgard protected planets), it seemed to be mostly intact, but when activated, it worked a bit like a partly shorted out computer. None of the devices worked right, and all the commands were scrambled.

In the end, they decided to leave it, given that they have all the Asgard knowledge base on the Odyssey anyway, and Cam was the one to go and turn it off. In the process, he got a little snap of electricity (Like a static shock level), and went back to base. They were all cleared by the infirmary, but when he woke up, he was no longer able to speak English. He can write it, and he understands it, but he can't speak it.

Essentially, what happened was that one of the Asgard translating programs used for speaking with the natives got screwed up, and messed up the pathways in his brain to the speaking of English. It was designed to transform any first language into another (Asgard, in this example), and when finished, transform it back. It didn't work quite right, though, so while he can understand what he's saying when he says it, spoken Asgardian is a bit difficult for him to understand.

Its nothing serious, but it is a bit of a pain for him, given that he'll have to write everything to be understood by most people, until it can get fixed. Since it didn't work right, it's not a straightforward 'press this button' to swap it back, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out a way to get it sorted, since SGC has all of the Asgard's tech and knowledge, and a Holo-Thor.

Other notes: If Cam speaks in a different language, such as Spanish or Chinese (The latter of which he's not too shabby at), it will come out right. If he were to speak in Asgardian, it'd come out in English, however...he doesn't know Asgardian, so even if he were coached into saying a few phrases, it'd come out broken and in all the wrong tones. As previously mentioned, it doesn't affect his writing, so he can't read or write Asgardian, either.

*Cough* Yeah. Just thought I'd say that. If anyone's interested in playing out the actual plotty elements of that, or in volunteering a pup to figure out how to fix it, that'd be fun. If anyone wants to point or poke at the frustrated Lt. Col., too, that's cool. I just wanted to put it out in case anyone wanted to use it XD

And...second.

I was curious whether anyone wanted any plot with Tomin and his galaxy? I don't often get to play as Tomin, since he's such an odd muse, but he's totally open for any random plots should someone need some rogue element.

character: tomin, au character: cameron mitchell
