Basically, I've just finished contracting at a government department as a desktop support specialist, and while there impressed the manager of information services enough that she asked if I'd be interested in applying for a job with them - I don't have the job description yet, but from what I understand it'll be supporting and developing their document management systems.
I have 0 experience at information management outside of being head librarian at school, so I'm a long way from certain I'll get the position - but the fact that I've been asked to apply, along with her knowing one of my references personally, means I'm at least in with a chance.
And hey, it'd look great on the CV : )
