Well, this is the last night that I'll be up on Mt. Ruapehu. If anyone was considering coming up this season - it's not quite the worst conditions I've seen up here but it's right on the edge. Unless we get a decent southerly weather system in the next few weeks, I really wouldn't bother

Congratulations on your holiday! I'm all for making big life changes in pursuit of happiness. I've taken a paycut to go back into academia in Melbourne, and I'm over the moon about it :)
