Interesting, if not irreverent, article on how MMORPG's will change the world.

Well you know, it's really not all that surprising. It takes quite a bit of effort to amass even 1 unit of Gold in WoW if you are just starting the game. You'd probably need at least 10 game hours to amass anything near 1 Gold. Of course, this gets easier as you rise in levels, but even so, the sheer amount of time you have to invest in the game to get to a high enough level to farm 30-40 Gold a day is daunting. I have heard claims that certain power gamers are even capable of making 100 Gold a day, but to gather a sum that immense must take at least 12 hours.

All in all, it's not exactly a very high paying job. However, as long as you're having fun, I bet it beats wiping down tables.
